Pueblo pottery storytellers usually hold children, but this special storyteller holds three cats. The artist, Phyllis Nez, is not from a pueblo; she is Navajo. Her late mother-in-law was Felicita Eustace of Cochiti Pueblo. Felicita taught Phyllis to make these pottery figures. Phyllis decided to make them holding cats. Cat lovers will enjoy them. The seated figure is wearing a pueblo style dress, belt and moccasins. She is almost four inches tall (9 cm.).
