Songs and stories are loved by all cultures. Here in the southwest, we have different cultures with stories they revere. In the pueblo culture, stories are sometimes told in a kiva, a ceremonial chamber (where we non-pueblo people dare not go). There is also a tradition of pueblo grandfathers telling stories to children. This southwest advent calendar shows a pueblo kiva with pueblo man telling stories. Close by is an adobe church and a carreta, or cart, both of which came from the Spanish Colonists. There are many numbered doors to open, beginning December 1st and ending on Christmas Eve. Behind each open door is a picture which shows an image related to the theme of the advent calendar.
