The glass ornament of San Esteban del Rey, the famous colonial church on top of the mesa at Acoma Pueblo, is now on sale. If you are collecting Landmarks of New Mexico and do not already have this one, here is an opportunity to get it for a better price. It is especially beautiful on a Christmas tree because it is topped with a nighttime sky of blue, filled with hand painted gold stars.

Acoma has one of the most impressive pueblo churches. It was built of adobe, stone and wood in the 1620’s, on top of a stone mesa almost 400 feet above the floor of the desert. The walls are nine feet thick. This glass ornament was blown by mouth in Poland, silvered in side and hand painted outside in a process that takes a week to complete.
