This version of a pottery bell ornament by Joshua Garcia of Santo Domingo Pueblo has a hummingbird painted on one side. The other side has a beeweed plant design. Joshua used beeweed to make his black paint. The bell is hand formed of native clay and the slip has mica in it, which gives the bell a bit of sparkle. It makes a lovely sound when shaken. Lovers of hummingbirds would appreciate this unusual pueblo pottery version of the special bird. The bell is a bit more than two inches tall (6 cm.).
