Delia Gauchupin is a Jemez Pueblo Indian. Jemez is about an hour and fifteen minutes drive from Santa Fe. Delia makes several popular and affordable pottery ornaments, using clay she digs from the earth. This ornament is in the shape of a bear, a symbol of strength. It is painted on both sides with traditional Jemez pottery designs. The bear is three and a half inches wide (8.5 cm.). Designs vary.
