Jonathon Chee is a Navajo artist who makes pottery nativities in a simple folk art style. All the figures are dressed like Navajo people and they have the traditional Navajo hair style. Mary and Joseph are kneeling in front of their Navajo style shelter, which has a yellow star at its apex. The three wise men each wear a Navajo hat and carry gifts of value on the reservation, including a bag of salt. Baby Jesus is snug in his bed and a simple sheep completes the scene. The stable is five inches tall at the highest point (13 cm.).
