Elizabeth Manygoats is a Navajo potter who lives in Arizona on the huge Navajo reservation. This Manygoats nativity has a small stable with a pottery star. Mary and Joseph kneel on each side of the baby in his tall bed of pottery straw. The cow, donkey and sheep also kneel, and a pottery Navajo rug completes the scene. Mary and Joseph are dressed as Navajo dress, both with traditional hair styles. Joseph with a folded bandana around his head. Both fold their hands in prayer. The stable is five inches tall at the highest point (13 cm.).
