Douglas Johnson has been painting in northern New Mexico for over forty years. Several of his paintings are now available as Christmas cards.His newest card is of of La Fonda, the famous hotel on the plaza of Santa Fe, the end of the Santa Fe Trail. The hotel was built in 1920, so it will soon be a century old. The freshly fallen snow outlining the architecture tells you the season is winter and Christmas is near. Pueblo Indians, vintage cars, and drifting smoke from several chimneys add style to this fresh new painting of everyone’s favorite Santa Fe hotel.
