Artists love to create, and when an artist loves Christmas, he is likely to create unique Christmas cards to send to his artist friends. Often these cards are saved, and can be enjoyed by other lovers of Christmas decades after they first brought pleasure to the recipient.  Gustave Baumann loved Christmas, made Christmas cards and saved them. This collection of cards was eventually given to the Museum of New Mexico and the result is this lovely book, printed on thick, high quality paper. Most of the cards inside are by Baumann, himself, but other artists, such as Olive Rush, John Sloan and Willard Clark are represented. The cards date from 1919, about the time Gustave Baumann moved to Santa Fe, to the 1970’s, when his life ended. The authors are Jean Moss, a dealer in rare books and paper in Santa Fe, and Thomas Leech, Curator of the Press at the Palace of the Governors in Santa Fe. This book is a delight. It is hard cover, 115 pages, and the cover measures nine a a quarter in ches tall and eight and a half inches wide.
