This famous book was written by a physician in Frankfurt, Germany, for his own small children. This isn’t a Christmas book, but we couldn’t help adding it to the collection. Friends persuaded him to have it printed for the general public to enjoy, and it has never been out of print since. It is about the dire consequences of bad behavior in children, and it is known and loved by most Germans. Modern American mothers may be shocked at what happens to children who don’t listen to their parents and who disobey the rules, but this book has staying power, and is now considered a classic of children’s literature. This inexpensive edition is paperback, with the original illustrations which are so famous. The text is in English, with the German version in the back.
