Cathedral Basilica of Saint Francis of Assisi Ornament

The Cathedral Basilica of Saint Francis of Assisi has looked down San Francisco Street in Santa Fe for almost a century and a half. It replaced an even older adobe church on the same site, but one wing of that adobe church was preserved and holds the famous statue called La Conquistadora. The Cathedral Basilica has just been scrubbed inside and out in honor of the 400th anniversary of Santa Fe, and recently acquired four new bells which can be heard at Susan’s Christmas Shop. The purchase of this ornament benefits the Friends of the Cathedral, a local group dedicated to historic preservation at the Cathedral Basilica. This glass ornament is part of the Landmarks of New Mexico series. It is three inches wide.
