Mary Garcia is a potter from Acoma Pueblo. These ornaments are made of Acoma clay. They are formed by hand in the shape of a silhouette of a wedding vase. They are not fully round, but they are convex, bulging at the bottom half, suggesting an actually pot but light enough to hang on a Christmas tree. Some of these ornaments use an Indian red slip. Others use an orange slip. Both colors are seen on Acoma pottery. Each ornament is four and a quarter inches tall (10.5 cm.)
